Management System Familiarisation CBT

The Company MS Familiarisation CBT is a software package designed to train your staff and crew members in the structure and contents of your company’s management system. The CBT is company specific and contains a presentation section, a controlled documentation structure section and an administration section.

The CBT is typically divided into 10 chapters. These are:

  • Chapter 01: Introduction to the company MS and Mission Statement
  • Chapter 02: Historic View of Ship Management Systems

Chapters Contents Description

Chapter 01
Chapter 1: Introduction to the Company Management System & Mission Statement is an introduction to the CBT and the Company’s Mission Statement. It includes pages about the Company’s Mission Statement, Aspirations and Goals and CBT coverage.

Chapter 02
Chapter 2: Historic View of Ship Management Systems includes a recap of the last ten years in the Codes and Standards developed. The 2nd Chapter includes pages about ISM, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, TMSA and heir incorporation in the MS of the Company.

Chapter 03
Chapter 3: Controlled Documentation Structure includes a description of the levels of the Company MS and a sample mention of the most important manuals.

Chapter 04
Chapter 4: 1st Level of Documentation describes the 1st level manual(s) of the company. It contains a brief introduction of the manual(s) and one or more menu pages with the summaries of the manual(s)’s sections by section (e.g. policies)

Chapter 05
Chapter 5: 2nd Level of Documentation describes the 2nd level manual(s) of the company. It contains a brief introduction of the manual(s) and one or more menu pages with the summaries of the manual(s)’s sections by section (e.g. procedures)

Chapter 06
Chapter 6: 3rd Level of Documentation describes the 3rd level manual(s) of the company. It contains a brief introduction of the manual(s) and one or more menu pages with the summaries of the manual(s)’s sections by section.

Chapter 07
Chapter 7: Emergency Response includes a series of pages about the contingency plans and manuals of the company. These include information about damage stability and support services. In this chapter the contingency manuals such as SOPEP, VRP and others are summarised.

Chapter 08
Chapter 8: Continual Improvement Cycle includes a description of the process of Continual Improvement in the Company’s MS including the Company Targets and Objectives.

Chapter 09
Chapter 9: Reporting & Filing System describes the Company’s main registry form.

Chapter 10
Chapter 10: Responsibilities, Authorities & Accountabilities lists the ranks of the company’s sea farers including extracts of the company’s manuals of their responsibilities.

The user at any time may take the examination which consists of 20 randomly generated questions out of a pool of about 80 total questions. The exam is based on the contents of the CBT’s presentation and covers all chapters from 1 to 8.

The pass/fail percentage is of the exam is 75% or 15 right answers out of 20.

When the user passes the examination, the certification attestation button is enabled in the “View User” button of the administration panel, so the user may ask the administrator to print a certification attestation.

Be aware that only the last examination score is saved in the user’s current record. (Previous results can be seen in the records section of the View User screen where the previous tests can be seen).

Environmental Management System Familiarisation CBT

The Environmental MS Familiarisation CBT is a software package designed to train your staff and crew members in the structure and contents of your company’s environmental management system. The CBT is company specific and contains a presentation section, an examination section, and an administration section.

The CBT is divided into 10 chapters. These are:

  • Environmental Commitment
  • MARPOL Annex I – Preventing Pollution by Oil
  • MARPOL Annex II – Regulations for Prevention of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances
  • MARPOL Annex III – Prevention of Pollution by Packaged Harmful Substances
  • MARPOL Annex IV – Prevention of Pollution by Sewage
  • MARPOL Annex V – Prevention of Pollution by Garbage
  • MARPOL Annex VI – Prevention of Air Pollution
  • Other National and International Requirements
  • Environmental Codes & Standards
  • Company Management System

Marine Risk Assessment CBT

The Marine Risk Assessment CBT is a software package designed to fulfill your needs in Risk Assessment training. The CBT is contains a presentation section, an examination section, and an administration section. There are two different versions. One for Tankers and one for Bulk Carriers.

The CBT is divided into 10 chapters. These are:

  • Introduction to the concept of risk assessment
  • Evolution of risk assessment and introduction into marine applications
  • The perception of risk
  • Risk terminology and risk management process
  • Hazard identification
  • Risk ranking methods and criteria
  • The human factor and allocation of resources
  • On board implementation of risk assessment
  • Introduction explaining use of forms & checklists
  • Actual cases

The VESSEL GENERAL PERMIT FOR DISCHARGES INCIDENTAL TO THE NORMAL OPERATION OF VESSELS CBT is a software package designed to give you information and details on the new U.S. environmental requirements and the Vessel General Permit. This CBT contains a presentation section, an administration section and an examination section.

The CBT is divided into 8 Chapters. These are:

  • Chapter 01: Introduction
  • Chapter 02: VGP Coverage
  • Chapter 03: Discharge Categories & Related Requirements
  • Chapter 04: Corrective Actions & Noncompliance Reporting
  • Chapter 05: Inspections, Monitoring & Reporting to the EPA
  • Chapter 06: Recordkeeping
  • Chapter 07: Individual States Requirements
  • Chapter 08: Training Requirements
